Stand alone cabinet with TV lift

Well this one certainly helped my receding hairline a real head scratcher. So many considerations to include in the design. A room dividing unit that held a lifting TV mechanism, this then spun on its axis allowing the television be viewed from either end of the room so rather than most items of furniture which have a back or non seen side this was accessible and seen all round. A lot of dimensions and style came from some existing items of furniture the customer already had.

The unit needed to be strong enough to hold the weight of the TV and lift in use and at full height, the centre section had no base to take the height of the lift and TV, a lot of designing and very bespoke framework was needed to transfer these strains and weights. This all had to be done without wasting space as shallow overall depth was required, along with the cabinetry on one side needing to be used and not lost. Narrow DVD storage in cupboards along the length of the TV and larger cupboards on either end for the DVD player and extra storage. All fully sprayed and finished with an oak top with continuing grain through the letter box over the TV.

I think the hair loss was worth it and think this was a real success.
